Parents & Guardians
There are three options for parents/guardians:
- A special workshop will be held on Sundays of each camp session between 9:00am to 2:30pm. This program will help you understand more about your child's grief and will suggest healthy ways for your whole family to manage and cope with your loss. You will get to meet and learn from other adults who are going through some of the same things you are. Activities will include a classroom lecture, a cook-out, and small group discussion. All events except the cook-out are adults only. This option is FREE.
- An adult retreat session - This session will be held at the same time as the children's camp. This will be a weekend for parents/guardians to process their own grief surrounding the loss of a loved one. The program is semi-structured, and offers group support sessions, nature walks, reading and a memorial service. These activities are led by a licensed grief counselor. There will also be free time for you to take advantage of the beautiful setting and to relax. Space for this option is limited, and involves a registration fee of $25.00 for each adult – NO REGISTRATION FEE FOR CHILD/REN; CHILD/REN ATTEND CAMP FREE OF CHARGE.
- Parents/guardians who do not have the time to participate in any of the two options above, can still have their children attend camp. Simply drop your child off at the designated drop-off time on Friday and pick your child up at the designated pick-up time on Sunday.
Note:
Camp sessions may be virtual depending on circumstances.
